Very Saddening...

today i went to my lfs to buy 2 new betta fish that i've been eyeing up for a little while,
but i finally got the money and tanks for it, foudn out they had to kill about 30 of them.
it was very sad--now they only have 4 left and they aren't the happiest looking...

What exactly do you mean by "had to kill them?" Do you mean the petstore didn't take care of the sick fish....or something else


Either way, I'd say something, and then save one of the 4 boys that's left!!!

I would wait for the next shipment. I'm not a good doctor. Rescuing sick fish is a choice. I get enough of them without trying. 8)

i agree with you..which is saddening!
but they weren't sick...just less active from being in small cups, and they were getting old...6 months+?
and probably some of the died...

and ravenwing i would definetly save them but i don't have the money, and my mom won't let me get anymore
than my 9 guppies, and 2 algea eaters

I wouldn't think that those fish are very healthy. There are guidlines for choosing healthy fish. It is heartbreaking to bring them home and have them die--or have shortened life spans. It is noble to do take that role, but it's not for me. I take care of dysfunctional kids--that's enough.

If i were you i`d Find a new LFs, as the one you go to sounds horrible!@

yes, well there's 3 lfs within three blocks of eachother, i go to that one only for supplies, and then i get tanks and guppies from another then get the other fish besides uppies from the other..heheehe... 8)
so ya...i pretty have been getting the best stuff from those palces.
kinda found the best items frmo each store.

6months isnt old for a Betta. If they are well looked after they can live for 5 years or more in some cases.
