my PK just won't eat a thing. it's driving me mad, he's starting to look a little skinny, up until about 5 days ago he was eating fine. now he'll take something, mull it over, spit it out. i've tried 3 different types of pellets, frozen brine shrimp and freeze dried bloodworm. hesitant to try pea as he's got nothing in him.

any suggestions??

he also gets stress-striped real easy (has since i got him) and tends to hang around near the surface, no trouble swimming though, he can move when he wants to, and will still jump out the water when i lift the lid.

confused!

i don't have any :(
i had some sea monkeys but they died.

i stuck a fly in his tank yesterday, a little knat, he just stared at it.

he's still not eating
i changed his tank around, he had white gravel, so i mixed in some more natural gravel, in case the glare was getting to him, and added more IAL in case he wasn't enjoying my lovely hard london water, and a little bit of aquarium salt. i got him some new food to try, daphina "gel", a freebie from my LFS because they'd never tried it, my other three loved it, this guy just stared at it.

he goes like he's going to eat it, chews it, mulls it over, then spits it out.

gah! this is annoying. any other suggestions?

just because he's skinny doesn't mean he isn't constipated, but if he won't eat at all, it may prove difficult to get him to eat pea. have you medicated him for anything else? loss of appetite is a symptom of lots of illnesses, not just contipation, but very few are ones that he will just get over without some medication.

that's what concerns me, any suggested meds?
i have melafix but thats it really

How old is he Cat?

Is it possible to change his view? maybe he's bored with what he can see :dunno: maybe put somebody next to him to see if he's interested in flaring at them.

I guess a little melafix would be ok, its what I would try next if it were mine ;)

he's young, he's my betta from Kevin, i got him about 3-4 months ago.
i just rearranged his tank last night, and put more natural gravel in.
and cleared his view over to korben so he can see him
and showed him a mirror, but he's never been one to flare lots

he still takes in some food, spits it out
tried him with pea this morning, but he just ignored it and watched it float past his nose.

i'll drop in some melafix tonight, but what if it's internal? melafix just does external wounds and such.

have you seen those sachets in the shop which contain bloodworm jelly
....my male betta goes crazy for them...as im holding it over the tank he jumps out of the water just to eat from the sachet

my sister has a male betta and he only eats bloodworm.......feed other stuff he takes it then spits it out behind the filter....

update: he died
had a call from my housemate
i'm not at home at the moment

booo

whats the best way to sterilise his tank without gutting it ready for this new boy i'm bringing home (i can hold him in a temporary tank for now)
