Very confused, and upset now :(

:) Does the fish with the swollen belly look like a pine cone when veiwed from above ?

If it does you may well have an internal problem with your fish too

Nope, that would be dropsy right?

She is quite fat, doesnt look like a swollen belly more as just she is very fat. But I don't overfeed and she got this fat in only about 2 days.

We have now bought a seperate small tank, should I use some of the tankwater even though that must be carrying these parasites right? :dunno:

Also, would that help it cycle? Should I use some filter media from main (infected) tank?

I'm just worried about putting bad stuff in the hospital tank.

We bought some different meds, so will isolate any fish showing problems later today.

I'm afraid I don't have anything constructive to add :( I just wanted to say that I'm sorry to hear about this and that I hope it sorts out soon, cos you really didn't deserve any of this especially after all the research you did before setting up your tank :( good luck.

:) Yup, it could still be dropsy in the early stages, especially if she got fat that quickly.

If you use just tapwater to set up your hospital tank then any fish you put in there may get gas bubbles in thier fins (bit like a diver with the bends)

Fill the hospital tank halfway using water from your main tank then use dechlorinated tapwater to finish.

If you have filter media that you can transfer to the hospital tank filter then do so, simply give it a gentle rinse in tankwater and add fish immidietly to keep the bacteria alive.

As you are treating the tank anyway any disease should get eradicated :)
