Various Pictures And Video's Of My Tank And Fish

Thanks for the advice Scrotius.

Okay so my cameras iso settings are 100, 200, 400, 800 and 1000 I find as I increase the iso the picture gets grainier?

Exposure compensation goes up to 1/1500 is this another way of saying shutter speed?

What sort of aperture is best I guess for a single subject its best to have it low? and high for whole tank pictures

White Balance I have several options well I guess its just a case of experiment

I am seriously thinking of getting a tripod

for single subjects use the widest aperture (smallest f-number), this will give you more light and make the background blurry, bringing out the fish
for the whole tank, don't use the widest, but you don't have to close it all trhe way down either, or your shutter speed will suffer and you won't tell the difference in depth of field anyway
use the lowest ISO that you can afford to without having to use a shutter speed slower than 1/50
I don't think exposure compensation is the same as shutter speed, its usually an option to let you tell your camera how bright the subject that you're shooting is
if you're shooting in a fully manual mode then exposure compensation will do nothing, if you're using a mode that will choose the shutter speed for you, set your exposure compensation around 0

hope that helps!

try "flourescent" on the white balance if you're using flourescent tube lighting

definitely get a tripod if you can

heh, glad to have found a way to contribute to the forum - everyone's so much more knowledgable than me when it comes to fish!

LOL join the club.

I think its a case of 50% are very knowledgble about the subjects and 50% think they are
