Varieties Of Snails

HI - I would like to get snails back in my tank but they are eaten by my Barbs. They have a veracious appetite.
Does anyone know other types of snail that are better at defending themselves or simply don't get eaten by Barbs?
 
A lot of people try to get rid of snails but I like them and they clean the algae off of plants leaves.

Heh, tiger barbs are notorious for eating just about anything!

 
Thats why I like them, characters! 

 
I don't know if larger snails would be ok, like a large nerite or apple snail or something like that perhaps, too big for the barbs to eat maybe?
Could totally be wrong as am guessing here...

 
(I like snails too, have assassins and common snails in one tank, other tank has MTS and planning to get nerite horned snails as well
