Uv In Xternal Filter

Hi everyone just recently purchased a new external filter for a new set-up 23 gallon (UK)/ 106L. Bought from 'All pond solutions' on ebay which i heard of from here. went for the 1400l/h.

Firstly, will this be over kill? Planning on having Serpae Tetra and s pair of bolivian rams in this tank and secondly...

I didnt realise it had a UV light thing on it/in it do i need to do anything to maintain it or jus wait till it stops working and get a replacement bulb lol

If you don't want to use it then just leave the bulb out and install the cover bit as normal, otherwise it leaks

Cheers i'll probably just leave it as it is, its my first external filter so dont want to move it in case i break it lol hopefully its beneficial
