i have a fluval roma 240 with a fluval fx5, had trouble finding a uv clarifier specifically made for aquariums that would either fit the hosing or cope with the litre per hour flow rate of the fx5. i have come across two, pond ones!
i am asking for peoples opinions on which of the two would be best!
one of them is 36 watt and copes with up to 4500 lph and the other is 18 watt and copes with up to 2500 lph.
i would preferable go for the 18 watt one but don't no if it would be enough.
let me know which one you think would be best as i look to purchase the right one next week!
thanks
David

you cant use a pond type on a tank

tank UVS
pond UVC

the pond type is just to control green algae
the tank type kills bacteria

different tools for different jobs

so do you no where i can get a uvs for an aquarium, which will fit the 1" pipe and cope with up to 3500 lph?
i need some help here as this is something i definitely need to do! though i am not wanting to spend a fortune!!
so can you not get a uvs for a pond??
cheers
David

would a vecton uv600 do? it says it can do up to 1900 lph, the fx5 does 3500 lph, but i don't no how much it does when full of media?!?! could someone help me here because i have never dealt with uvs on an aquarium before!!

David

vecton are probably the best ones for aquariums i run 1 the uv25 and it does an awsome job and they all have inlet/outlet ends that fit upto an inch or maybe a little bigger it steps from normal garden hose size so fit anystandard size piping.
