Hi guys,

Now I have been 4 weeks without my new tank set up because its being daft.

Now my question is this...

Tonight I have put my set up tank media into my new filter. I have also put 6 litres of tank water into bottles to take to school.

If I put all this in the tank will it get it set up asap?

Is the mature media under water and how long has it been out of the established filter?

Its been out of the filter for about 2 hours, submerged in the water from the same tank

Well the faster you get it running the new tank the better.

Tank water won't help so not really important but the bacteria in the filter media need water flowing over them to survive. The longer they are just sat in water the more die-off you'll get and a greater chance of having a mini-cycle when hooked up to the new tank.

Will put it back into the filter until tomorrow then. Im guessing it'll more/less be set up though by tomorrow?

It bloody well worked, its cycling very well and its now all set up will get a picture tomorrow
