Urgent!-khuli Loach (sorry Didn't Know Where To Put This Threa

Hey,
It's Animation here, I haven't been on for AGES, sorry guys, been busy!
Right,
I have had my Khuli loach for ages now and he has grown rather large, but I'm downsizing my tank, my old tank had sand, and the new one has gravel (I am doing all of this for less maintenance, I have many exams etc.) I don't know what to do with him, as I know they often swim across the bottom of the tank, will gravel injure him in any way? Or could I just give him back to the fish shop?
