Urgent ! Angelfish Problems - Massive Fighting

Get busy with the family for a day, & other folks angels are having a situation instead of mine. Sounds like good advice given, could be a pairing situation Angels can take quite a bit of fin nipping, body ramming can cause some severe internal injuries. If all you are seeing is some torn fins, I wouldn't be too worried.

Keeping a divider handy is always needed with cichlids, angels are no exception. This usually works a little better with angels that are pairing, as they can see each other & know of each other's presence. It lets them get a little more accustomed to each other. This would work out well in a tank that large, and is less stressful than transferring them in & out of the tank. Divide them up if the fin tearing gets severe, or if there is body ramming involved.

The lighter colored one is a panda koi, the other is a dark gold marble. Very nice looking fish.

they're bellies do puff out like that when they're adults, they stay pretty flat as juvi's.... but yes she could also be carrying lots of egg's.... we had an adult breeding pair though and when she was full of egg's she looked bigger than that.

you can make a DIY divider very easily, get the cheap plastic condensation tray's you can get and prick loads of holes in it, then fix that in the tank down the middle. Won't last forever but it'll do the job if your worried about them and don't have time/money to sort something more permanent out.

But no try and stick with it and just wait out. I had 2 firemouth's that kept fighting, left them for nearly 2 weeks to see if they'd settle, eventually i had to return one. But you can tell when fish are getting really poorly, just keep a close eye on them and hopefully they'll sort themselves out soon enough

were you planning on putting any more angels in the tank? Sometimes it helps with aggression to up the numbers, dilutes it almost!

The good news is that they are now doing an excellent job of completley avoiding each other
I would like to put some more Angels in, but I'll wait it out a bit first. Also, I think they'd need to be of similar size ? Or else they'll just be beaten to death instantly ?

None that I've taken yet of the full setup actually. This is the eBay item - but the photos really do it absolutely no justice whatsoever and it doesn't give the feeling of its size at all. I've also taken that horrid background off

I need to do some aquascaping on it - it's only got some Vallis at the moment, but the sand is too shallow (I need an inch more) so the vallis keeps floating to the top

Here is a photo I took when I started doing the switch between my Juwel Vision 180 and the Rena - it gives a bit of an idea about the size difference, just looking at the base.
