ive been looking allover for a 36gl bow front tank and i could not find one for the life of me for a good frice and i finally found one and i called up the store and they were out.

i then noticed they had a 37gl tankfor cheaper so i said screw it i might aswell get the bigger tank for cheaper so i did.

i brought it home and i didnt realize until much later that there was a chip in the glass. i called up the store complaining and i have to wait till maybe next thursday to get a new one, im kind of pissed.

and i know this is just useless information that nobody really cares to know but i just needed to express my anger somewhere where somebody might care and may have had a similar experience or maybe even worse and owuld be able to share it with me to make me feel better ! i tried talking to my girlfriend about it but she didnt care in the slightest bit and didnt not help my mood at all

I feel your pain!

I recently bulk purchased 4 tanks ( used, in various sizes ) for what was first a bargain price.... but then I found the chips....

It's my own fault really for not having checked the tanks over fully before buying them.

I understand this is almost impossible to do from a store if you're buying a boxed up tank, but does apply to anyone purchasing an 'on display' tank.

I grumbled and swore to myself, but I've learned my lesson.

At least you can get a replacement, so yay to that! :good:

Hope your next one is perfect for you.

you bought the tanks in person?

but yea its frustrating buying something only to then realize later that there is something wrong with it.

what did you wind up doing with your tanks? did you try to do any repairs on them if any were possible?

and thank you so much for your reply! even though it took me a while to reply back ! :fun:

i feel your frustration, i bought a tank and hood from ebay yesterday, looked great in the picture, only to find the hood is absolutly crap, its a clearseal crown? not what was pictured, its so flimsy and wont even stay on top of the tank, im currently 'trying' to make one, lesson to learn, check before you buy

yea tell me about it but sometimes it can work out in your favor by making a mistake

now for this incident i convinced the store to sell me the whole set up for $185 as appose to the original price of $220 :good: :D

Aww, sadface.

Is this your first tank? You can always run the filter in a plastic box full of water and a dose of ammonia to get bacteria growing, if that's any consolation to you.

I might ditch two larger ones, just break them up, or repair, not sure yet as I've just bought a Juwel Rio 180 also plus another 60 litre Rena tank. Kind of over-run with tanks! lol.

ahh that juwel rio is a beautiful tank! good luck with it!

but let me know what you do with the other tanks im curious to find out. even if its a while from now that you decide on something

Serious question here: do you think "Autowindscreens" chip & crack repair service for car windscreens would be suitable for fish tanks?
