Updated On The 10ft Tank

My 10ft tank probably isn't going to go ahead for another 1 or 2 years (I need the cash!). I want to start very early as it is going to be a very major project. It is going to be a 600 gallon. These are the fish I have though about so far:

(I am looking to add fish that are semi-aggresive but dont kill things and I want fish that can defend for themselves without any big fights.)

Please help me with the numbers!

Clown Loaches (the ones from my current tank plus a few more)

If i had a 10ft tank I would put some loch ness monsters in instead. lol. why dont you go for some tank busters?

Depending on the other fish you get, you could do one or two big shoals of schooling fish. They look and act absolutely amazing in large numbers. most tetras and danios would fit the bill. Personally, I would like a shoal of about 30 or 40 harlequin rasobaras.

I'm in the process of running the plumbing and whatnot for a 300G tank in my basement - man I thought that was big. 600G is huge! For my (relatively small) tank, I am running hot/cold water lines and a drain line right to the tank. Are you having to do the same? That's between 60G and 120G per week in water changes! (assuming you subscribe to the 10% to 20% way of thinking).

now thats a cool idea, could get the tank to look more realistic or as close to freshwater in the wild, im with envy

How about some Rummy nose also?
I think the Black Ghost Knife and some of the cats' would have to go if you are getting smaller shoaling fish.

I'm a little confused that your buying a 10ft then buyin some tiny little rams,yes there nice and colourful but it will be 600gallon .HHHMMM like 30-40 discus,heavily planted,some bottom feeders and loads of neons...ahh my dream..
