i could not find any stuff that aims at fixing swimbladder sicknesss if thats what it is ... in the end i got a broad spectrum treatment stuff thats a wardley promethyasul that aids in bacterial fungal and parasitic diseases i dont no that much about sickness in fish or the treat ment if its a swimbladder sickness would there be a chance that it will get fixed with this stuff .......oh just a reminder this fish swims on its side alot now and acts drunk and spins as it trys swiming right side up i think it might be going to die soon

It might help but I think the fish sounds a little too far gone for recovery. If it's stopped eating, it may be best to euthanise using clove oil.

i think its still eating it has a hard time geting the food but it seems to get some

Is it still with your other fish? If moving it to an isolation tank will help it eat, it's a good idea to do so.

 where can i get clove oil i think its just about ready to die i think i was more hopeing it was going to get better  i think it maby geting worse and i dont think it can make a recovery any more :X so i think its probly best to euthanise at this stage :(

My angelfish died this evening and I felt so bad, I felt I needed to euthanise it too, but I didnt. She passed on really quick.

Hope you do whats best for you and your fish.

You can find clove oil in most pharmacies. It is sold for tooth ache.

To euthanise, put the fish in a bowl of tankwater containing a few drops of clove oil. If it doesn't go into an obvious sleep almost immediately, add a few more drops until it does. Don't overdo it - it doesn't take much. Only when you see the gills stop moving completely should you stop adding clove oil. Leave the fish in the bowl for at least an hour to make sure it's dead - this is especialy important with gouramies because they breathe air. Afterwards, don't flush it, dispose of it in a bin so you aren't likely to introduce anything to local waterways that shouldn't be there.

I'm realy sorry he's not recovering though :(

thinking back i think i have herd of clove oil being used for tooth ache so i should be abl to find some tommorow  i still find it feels wrong to kill a fish that is wanting to live i mean evan if its the right thing to do cuz it wont get better and will only get sicker and die(what want to say i just cant word right i guess it just dose not seem fair on the fish  )

I know what you mean. I also often feel uncomfortable euthanising fish but, under circumstances like this, you know that if the fish isn't eating it'll die so you may as well stop its suffering. Remember that fish like gouramies live in the present - it's not like their looking forward to a future or consciously fear their own death. He will just drift off to sleep and feel nothing.

your right i guess its going to be good bye to one of my more color full gouramis i wanted to breed this one cuz he has nice dark colors i guess after this i will only have one realy dark one to try breeding with the one thats still liveing life 100% is the darker of both of them and they are both males kind of like brothers so the color of breeding with the other should be arownd the same but it was hard finding realy dark ones and all gouramis are cute in there own way i think the other dark gourami will be sad cuz they both would hang rownd each other i think probly cuz they are ruther both rownd the same color do gouramis get depressed?

Hi Fizban, Sorry for your trouble.

I hate to do it too. I just got some euthanize stuff from Drs.Foster and Smith. I have some emporers I will be putting down. I had been unable to find clove oil. Every other method I tried (except brandy) was a disaster. And I always feel like you were saying. Life is so precious. So now I have the clove oil and can do the sad deed.

euthanised, my fish in a bowl of tankwater containing a few drops of clove oil.today it went to sleep sighs
