What is up with this algae? I cannot get it off with sponge, fingers nor even the drywall knife my fiance used to get the calcium build up off with.

I use an old gift card or credit card. Takes some scraping. Ugh, do not like it!

I tried that on the calcium deposit and it did nothing. Would the algae really be any different? I already refilled my tank and put fish back in so can't do a whole lot atm.

it's probably growing in scratches on the glass. Use a clean toothbrush or a green nylon scouring pad (make sure it's free of soap and chemicals).

Let the tank walls dry for a week. After a week try scraping it of with an old credit card or gift card like deanasue said

Ok thanks. Can't leave it to dry for a week right now since I am using that tank but I will remember that for future use.
