Unknown Plant

I got one of those bulb packages from lfs and have been growing this plant for about a month now, im not too sure though if its a tiger lotus because it hasnt displayed the coloration that ive seen on tiger lotus?

i think its a tiger lotus. I've read that you get different colours, so some may be deep red, others more greeny red. I thought the colour was dependent on lighting as normally red plants require high light to actually bring the red out in them.

yeah thats probably true because mine is greenish red and i have medium lighting so that could cause the red and green coloring. I love the plant either way, and im glad i bought the bulb pack and got a nice apon crispus and tiger lotus for only $4.

Yeah it's gorgeous. I have one and mine is also greenish/red. I like it like that, it has a kind of shimmer to it and is different colours in different lights.

$4 is really good. I've never actually seen the bulbs to buy. I got mine in a plant collection I got when starting out.

It was just one of those "Bulb Assortment" packages at a LFS (petco) that has 4 bulbs for $3.99, although i think the water onion was really a real onion cause it was poluting my tank when i tried to get it to grow.
