Unexplained Fish Deaths- Blood Worm Ok?

I have experienced a rash of unexplained fatalities recently. Nothing in fish stats to indicate a problem.

One of the fish ( a cory) , when I fished him out I noticed he had a sort of reddish boil thing on his underbelly just in front of the anal fin. I now have a poorly looking Danio, displaying a similar red patch in the same place.

This is probably irrelevant, but a few of weeks ago I started to feed them Bloodworm(freeze dried)once every week. This isn't known to cause any problems is it?

I doubt it is bloodworm but I have heard something about this. Repost in the emergency section and see what folks might offer.

though i am far from sure. do you re-hydrate you blood worm prior to feeding? i have heard of freeze dried food causing digestion problems. as it re-hydrates in the fishes stomach.
