I have a pair of clown/rocket killies who I was planning to breed after I move, they however had other plans! I recently moved them into the community tank to ecourage my galaxies(who's tank they were sharing) to spawn. I then moved all my galaxies into another tank and was about to clean out the original tank ready for any fry. To my surprise there were already fry in there! It turns out I have a few galaxy fry and one lonely little killie fry. I am pleased but just hope they all survive the move in August. I very nearly culled it  thinking it was a deformed galaxy baby. So glad I didn't as it's stripes are just starting to show.

They are very very small when first hatched, they are easily missed. Yours obviously has been around for a while as they are slow growing.

How long would you say it is between spawning and hatching?
The fry is only a few mm, like I said, I thought it was a deformed galaxy fry as I wasn't expecting there to be any killie fry, which would mean it hatched around the same time as my first lot of Galaxies. Approximately 4 weeks.

Excuse my ignorance but I move in killifish circles and have done for eons what eaxctly are galaxies.
Ps. annulatus spawn to hatch 10-16 days at 74'F
Males fin extensions 3-4 months
Fully mature around 9 months.

Sorry, the Galaxies are Celestial pearl danios or galaxy/firework rasbora. There was a big hoopla about them recently and I managed to acquire some for breeding, and have inadvertantly managed to get the killis spawning as well. Not that I mind as I was hoping to get the killies breeding after we move. Now I've got the headache of moving adult fish and fry.

Thank you for the info, I'll keep an eye out for any more missed fry.
