Hi friends,

Just letting everybody know one of c@~kups so they don't hopefully follow suit.

Well here goes, after successfully breeding some platies (about 10) i kept them in a small growing on tank. Last weekend i purchased 2 small Bummble Bee Catfish approx 25 - 35 mm in length. i put these fish in the growing on tank thinking because of their small size they would be okay, but how wrong i was, i now have only 5 fry which are the largest fry from the batch. i presume that because of their size they were too big for the catfishes mouth. :(

The catfish have now been moved to the main tank until the weekend at least.

I am told by my Lfs that they grow to about 50 - 70mm max and are okay in a community tank. (with larger fishes i now think) .

Anyway thought i would share my bad experiance.

:/ Dummer

It's not the first thing to expect with catfish. A lot of people use catfish in Breeding tanks as they usually leave the fry alone.

They will be fine in the other tank, they get along with most fish. :D

Just when you think you know it all :p I guess even the pros can't know it all huh. Rose 8)

I can't even get my platies to have fry  hehe I am impatient :)
