First off, what's the deal on angelfish? They're intriguingly beautiful and I'd love to own one. I have a 30 gallon bow front aquarium currently housing 6 hi fin skirt black tetras, 2 zebra danios, and a blue gourami. Would introducing an angelfish be a bad idea?

Also, is any fluctuation of temperature reasonable? I live in arizona and we're slowly approaching the summer time. The house currently stays between 75-79 degrees, and once I transport my fish here (moving out of an apartment) I'm assuming the water to stabilize at about 77 degrees, with the chance of a few degrees in fluctuation.. this would be over the course of the day, though. However, what do I do during the summer months, when the temperature during the day is nearing almost 118 degrees? My house will surely not be at the temperature, but I do foresee mid to low 80s...

What your tank will experience is no different than the fish would experience in a natural setting. Temperatures vary as the sun rises and sets so fish are ultimately adaptable to that fluctuation. Try to avoid extremes of temperature and your fish will be fine.

i think you'd be fine with an angel. theyre amazing, i currently have 4 in the same kind of tank as you. i would advise not to get 4, because mine just happen to get along, but yours may not. 1 or 2 will be fine though. your tank is 24" height, so you'd be fine with them.

I keep angels in the low to mid 80's all the time. IMO they can handle higher temps better than discus, had them just shy of 100F once due to a heater malfunction. If I'm looking for faster growth on a spawn I'll bring the temp up near 90F, feed heavy & change a lot of water.
