Tufa Rock

Does anyone know if you have to do anything with tufa rock before I put it in my tank. I seem to remember hear it can alter water chemistry too.

Any advice much appreciated.

tufa rock WILL raise your kh and in turn you ph.

just a good wash in clen water will do. make sure you don't get any that is too soft as it will just crumble and disintegrate when its wet.

not recomended unless you do want to raise these though.
ideal for marine and malawi/tang/victoria set ups. nothing else really

Thanks for the quick reply. So you wouldn't advise putting a pretty small peice in a normal trop setup then?

not unless you have very acidic water. or an extermely low kh.

what is you ph and kh now? and what fish do you keep?
