So my sister had a Bristlenose Pleco and someone gave her another species that she didnāt know, but had no clue that they could crossbreed until they suddenly had a bunch of fry. She gave the fry to me to raise because Iāve been wanting to start hobbyist fishkeeping for a while, but I do want to know what kind of plecos they are so I know their specific needs, value in fishkeeping (because thereās no way keeping 10 plecos together forever will end well), etc.
They are roughly a month old now and are just barely longer than a thumb digit and are starting to show their markings pretty strongly. All of them seem to have a ring of spots around their necks and their father seems slightly piebald, though itās hard to tell in the picture.
When theyāre a bit bigger Iāll be adding other elements to their tank, but I stayed with Catappa leaves, gravel, and a couple of hides for now so I could easier monitor their health and growth as a beginner, but some tips would certainly help.
