Hello everyone!
I'm not usually one to post on forums, though I do often visit and read them. However, I really wanted some opinions on this. I was at Petco and I saw this fish that I immediately thought was a Siamese Algae Eater. It was labeled as a Flying Fox. I decided that they could have easily made the mistake and I would take it home either way. After spending way to much time googling pictures and descriptions of the differences between the two last night, I am still not certain. I am still strongly leaning toward true SAE. What do you think?

mine looks the same--bought it on liveaquaria.com as a siamese algae eater

from the same site as referrenced above, here is a pic of a flying fox---notice the darker fins than on your fish and the barbels---you have a siamese algae eater in my opinion

Please forgive spellings!

Siamese Algae Eater (SAE) and Siamese Flying Fox are the same species.. (Crossocheilus siamensis) and this is what you have.

Not... to be confused with:

True (Indonesian) Flying Fox (Epalzeorhynchos kalopterus) which has a darker and broader stripe, a bronze/gold stripe just above the black stripe (when fully coloured), has a flatter mouth that faces downwards and a somewhat more aggressive temperament.

also..

Chinese Algae Eater (Gyrinocheilus aymonieri) which looks utterly different and tends to be green mottled, golden or patchy brown and grey with a few darker markings.
