how long do you have to leave the fiter and heater on in anew tank before you add fish?

i have a haoos 50w heater i cant make out what setting the heater has to be at for the fish, what seting does trpoical fish have to be set at ?

As for temperature. It varies as some fish prefer higher tropical temperatures whereas other prefer slightly lower. I'd say an overall average is 26° or 27° Celcius. The heater only needs to be left in between a few hours to overnight. Depending on the tank size and heater quality.

looks like im gonna have to get some ammonia tomorrow

ive done the calculater test and it says i have to add 2.63ml of ammonia to my tank, once ammonia is added do i leave it for a few hours and then test with a tester? how do i now if i need to add more?

sorry first time doing this,

once i know it will be a walk in the park lol

It can be a slow, frustrating process fishless cycle. But you doing a good thing by following it, stick at it & the rewards will be great. Yeah, you've just got to add the ammonia and keep your eye on the levels. I've never done one personally so I've not got a great deal of knowledge on how to do it, but I know its really easy.
