Hi All,
Finally new tank is set up (some pics in Journal under My 240 Ltr )now this tank has the filter under the hood and the outlet pipe into the tank is always gurgling,so after doing various searches I came across a suggestion to put some very coarse foam on top of the outlet hole inside the filter housing.

I have done this and it has cut the gurgling noise out,the water level rose very slightly with the added restriction of the foam and I am checking it regulary.

Main problem would be if the foam got clogged up with debris the water level would rise in the filter housing, though there is an allowance should this happen that any overfill will flow into the tank.

Could I continue using this method if I check it on a regular basis or is there another method I could use to quieten the outlet noise.Tank is as full as it can be with water.

Thank you.

Just make sure you clean the sponge weekly in old tank water to stop it getting clogged up
Had a trickle filter in one of my old aqua one tanks one if the easiest filters to maintain IMO :)

Ive got the same setup and found the gurgling noise was actually caused by the biorings i had directly above the outlet tube - silly as it sounds i simply moved a few rings around to allow a better flow and the tank is now silent....

Thanks Sammy,
My noise is coming from the outlet into the tank, all is good though, put a piece of very coarse foam over the outlet in the filter box and nice and quiet.

Thanks for the info.
