TREASURE CHEST AQAURIUM PROJECT

If i were to make a treasure chest like this and incorperate an aqaurium into it, would you ever consider buying such a finished item when looking for a new tank?

This is for my research for my design technology


if i make this tank, it will also have storage space enrolled in it so you can keep everything in one place. I may also try and create an 'easy cleaning' method too that might help instead of syphoning. My treasure chest will be made of newer wood and will most probably have space for an external filter and an airpump and all the accessories. i might add 3 viwing sides to see all angles..... or maybe 2

Im unsure of the price it would be so can you judge on the actual product and not on how much money it would be.

I think the idea is good. Novelty tanks are always in demand and if it's practical as well as "gimmicky" you'd be on to a winner.

It would make a nice change to see a novelty tank made by someone that actually knows about fishkeeping as opposed to some businessman who thinks "that looks good (who cares about the practicality?)".

i think it could do well, as you can stick a light into the lid of the chest and some kind of filter like the Fish-r-Fun tanks which leaves more tank space.

I'm gathering the tank would only have 1 side for veiwing? or would it be totally open with a chest style top......you haven't explanied too much on your design.

the one on ebay was just a chest with no stand, i just thought it was too low down to view, so at least yours has a stand.

It looks interesting but I wouldn't buy it myself because it doesn't go with the kind of decorating I've got in the rest of the house.

That would look cool in a room decorated to suit. Not in my bedroom, but maybe an antiquey living room? I'm sure that's what you're goign for anyway . I voted yes, because if I had my own house with a room decoratd that way, I'd get it.

Not to my taste but I think a lot of other people would like it, it would have the vast vast advantage (compared to other novelty tanks) that you will presumably design it to be suitable for fish ASWELL as nice to look at.
