Trapped By The Filter

my paradise fish keeps wedging himself behind the filter- he's the only one that does it and luckily so far doesn't seem in anyway hurt by it but still is there anything i can do to stop him doing it?
I know it's not the flow because there is non that would push him behind the filter- only away from it and even thats week enough that he can easily swim against it. It's a Fluval U3 if that makes any differance

Also- has anybody else ever had this problem?

You could try wedging a bit of sponge behind it so he can't get stuck behind it himself?
