Ok thanks when I go buy them is there any way to tell what one is male and what one is femal?

You should learn all you can before you buy them. Not only male and female.

I've been researching them a ton but all I want to know is how can I tell what kind is male or female and also what kind of floating plants do you suggest for them?

The males are nice and colourful, the female are more a Gray dullish colour. It's usually more difficult to find a female as with their colour being dull they don't particularly sell as well as the more colourful males.

When I got my two there were only males, which is why I ended up with the two males.

Sometimes your LFS will get them in of you ask for them specifically

Ok thanks I'll prob go on Sunday and pick them up but with silver dollars is it worth buying live plants I mean I love planted aquariums and I just kinda want to try live plants once or should I put live plants in with my piranhas?

Ok guys im really sad right now because something came up. I don't really know what but my parents won't tell me all they said is we can't afford to buy a 75g tank for a while so im getting rid of the silver dollars. is it ok to keep one silver dollar with the rts in the 20 gallon and maybe add a fire dwarf gourami? Or any dwarf gourami or should I get rid of all 2 sds and only keep my rts and add more gouramis and maybe another type of small 3" or so fish. I really like silver dollars and I want to keep one but i want to do what is best for the fish.

Oh sorry it's my friends league of legends name and I liked it lol sorry idk how to change it lol but I will but also can someone please help me find a cheap full set up tank I mean I have extra rocks and stuff for it i just need a 50 gallon that's about200$ if that's possible or else I won't be able to keep my silver dollars and maybe even my rts. But all im asking is this would it be ok to keep 1 silver dollar and the rts and add a gourami in a 20g or is it to small

IMO 20g is too small for silver dollars and even the rts to be honest

I have a 40g and I would say even that was too small, unfortunately I live in the UK so can't help you with getting another set up but maybe try advertising sites perhaps other forums, I know a couple do have selling sections

I hope you get sorted and are able to keep your silver dollars. My dad kept them once, they're lovely fish, sorry I couldn't be if more help!

This will sound kind of silly but Uh how do you make a new thread lol and btw the fish in my picture are my piranhas when they were 3" I have one picture of them when I first got them at 1/2" but they were in THA bad should i retake the photo of them now?
