Too much?

I had a canester filter that didnt work so I returned it to my lfs. They didnt have any other one so i choose an external filter, emporer 400, for 80 gallons. I think its a cool filter but is it to much for a 20 gallon. Is it too my much? IMO i think it isnt but i want advice....

It's better to over filter a tank, as long as it isn't blowing the fish every where it sounds ok.

I would not suggets it unless you can really lower the filtration speed.

Go with something around 20-30, at most. You rams and loach would not like the massive currents cause by the filter, and it is overkill when it comes to the amount of circulation that the fish need.

Sidenote: danios and neons need to be kept in schools of over 6. They will get stressed out if they are kept by themselves or even in pairs. Good idea for dither fish though.
