Tizer's 90 Litre Tiger Barb / Krib Tank

The rocks i got from an aquatic shop ages ago, they have been sat in my garage for years, the sand is silica sand, its about £20 for a large bag from aquatic shops. I believe its made by Unipac. Still needs a good clean in a bucket before going into the tank though, quite dirty/dusty.

Excellent thanks for that, so what are your plants living of? Is there no substrate there?

umm, light and a little bit of fertiliser when i remember

Have you tried regulator > solenoid > needle valve instead of regulator > needle valve > solenoid ?

I dont think it will really matter though! Tried upping the 2nd gauge to 2/3 ?

I really cant think of anything else sorry, still quite new to me

I have not tried switching them no. Its wierd it will start off with bubbles in the counter after being of then just slows to a stop before diffusing any. the 2ng gauge is at just over 2 see pic. Thats giving me 1bps.

Just out of interest mate, how tight you make the solenoid on the reg ?

Its all hand tightened, i cant really describe how much, but it certainly all locks off. My setup looks near identical to yours. If you leave it a while does the bubble count increase? I got a little impatient with mine a couple of times and let it rip through the ladder to clean it out. Could take the FE outside and give it a couple of quick blasts. Mind you dont freeze a finger off though.

No it stops dead.

The thing is it i leave the gauge at 2 and turn off then turn on say 20 min later its less of a count so i then have to turn the outlet to the needle valve again. Im slowly doing this to see if its down to a pressure that is needed to get it stable.

have you had a go without the needle valve in place? im not sure how sensitive you can be with the larger handle. could be worth a look.

I havent no mate. I am adjusting the smaller valve each time. If i set the bubble count to 2 and dont turn it off it stays exact. The problem is when its turned on and off.

Ill keep adjusting as much as i can today but if its not gonna work i may have to think of 24/7

pop an email over to ze germans, im pretty sure they have a wealth of knowledge behind them. I got a quick response when i asked a few questions. i wouldnt have it on 24/7 if it were me, thats asking for a world of algae pain :>

I agree i really do not want to leave it on 24/7. Still testing so fingers crossed. If it fails i will speak with the seller.
