Yes, this is fine - perfectly normal.
I have a shoal of 10 whose colours change regularly.
You'll also find that when they have they're having scraps, the red on their dorsal fins will become more prominent.
A word of warning though - 2 isn't really a good number for TBs; the bigger the shoal the more the aggression is spread out. You may only have a 20g tank but if I were you I'd get at least another 2 (possibly 3 or 4) - depending on what else you've got in your tank.

Good job thought there was something up with them. My tb's seem quiet enough keeping themselves to themselves.
i have about 22 fish in the community

2 tiger barbs
6 neons
1 red tailed shark
3 platys
1 sucker
2 marble angels
1 beta
4 lemon tetras
1 loach
The whole community seem to be peacefull enough, only at the start was there any aggression

Your tanks overstocked for a 20 gallons.
What type of loach is it?
What type of sucker fish?
Tigar barbs need to be groups of six.
Red tailed shark need 40 gallons.
The betta would be better off in a tank of its own.
Angel fish and neon tetra are a no go area, as the angels eat them in the wild.

Im looking for a bigger tank at the mo. Not sure what types the fish are, the loach is an eel like fish.
The sucker is a mystry, mostly black with some white dots, other than that i dont know.

The angels leave the neons alone as the neons are quite big(angels added after)

Ok thats fine then.
Good luck.
