My tiger barb has been completely fine until after he ate today and started having what looks like a seizure. He is swimming around vertically with his nose towards the bottom and tail near the top and is shaking nonstop. I hoped that the shaking would stop by the time I came back home a few hours later, but it is still happening. I feel really bad for it and have no idea what is going on. Any help?

One of my green barbs does this also. From what ive read & understand it is due to them either over feeding/gorging themselves or when eating too quick possibly gulping too much air hence the shaking, as if they are trying to wind themselves if you like!! Lol.
I do one starvation day a week & feed cooked & de-shelled peas or alternative add in a piece of cucumber, etc.
when you feed them try putting the food actually into the water & not just on the surface of the eater as I find this sometimes helps.
That aside, I can't think of anything else but even though my green barb does it this aside he seems to be fine.
Hope this helps .

thanks. my tiger barb has gone back to normal now -- took about 15 hours though. crazy!
