Thoughts Please

Hi, been looking at this forum for sometime now and finally joined.

I have been keeping tropical fish for about 1 1/2 years. Around march time I upgraded to at 4 foot tank. Sorry if the picture is a bit oversized. The plants on the right hand side are fake, the ones on the left are real, being new to real plants i have only these few left.

I would like to know your thoughts on my tank as it is, ways in which you think it could be inproved and how i would go about setting up a planted tank properly.

Although a helpful thing to post would be: do you know your wpg (watts-per-gallon ratio) of the light source(s)?

I would like to know your thoughts on my tank as it is, ways in which you think it could be inproved and how i would go about setting up a planted tank properly.

Also can't see the pic.

In terms of the planted side, be careful, it can really take over, although personally I'd not be happy without real plants in my FW tank. Have a read through the planted section of the forum, have a think about what types of plant you want to keep, go from there.

You may want to upload the photo again, I can't see it either. Just keep in mind that having a planted tank is much more than just buying plants and putting 'em in the tank, like I originally thought
