Wow, it seems you've had a knack for growing plants from the beginning. I hope mine will look as nice when finished.

Research, a bit of trial and error, a bit of research, a few mistakes, a bit of research, more trial and error. thats about it really.......

.....Oh and a bit more research.

don't forget patience either and a good tidy up 'n' prune before photos ;)

I like May 2007, the contrast and shadows makes the picture very good!
Thats the infamous 0.6WPG T8 setup that disproves many theories. lol. I liked that but the crap vivitar 2mp camera helped with the contrast. That is as the camera took it!!!

Just say you used the settings to make it like that lol

Nice sig too, has Dan done it?

I meant :) Cheap 2mp camera that made things look darker and didn't like colours used on auto everything. turned out nice though :p

No. I did it.

Yeah may 2007 does look cracking, it has a darker tone to it which shows off any bright colours, including the greens, something for us all to work on really, a real nice collection you have there and just goes to show never be afraid of change, I may well use your scaping as some inspiration for my next tank when I get it up and running. top job :good:

A look behind the scenes at 'May 2007' This is the photo you like and below it is reality in daylight!! It looks pretty fake and contrived compared to my more recent attempts;) :

So remember folks. Don't always believe what you see when you look at a scape and say WOW I want that!!! You may not like it so much in reality. Even with 0.6WPG the daylight shows the truth :D :D

These days with the clean look and clear backgrounds etc, it is much harder to cheat

I'd love your opinions on the differences on this one. Interested to see a reaction on how different the 2 pictures look

wow, what a progress. I have to say, i thought you keep fish many many years, as you are know quite a lot about it.

now i know i begin this hobby much earlier than you, however, i still at beginner level :/

I just worked hard ;) A lot of reading, a lot of mistakes a large amount of trust (i.e. recent thinking on high turnover and ferts) and eventually got there.
