So here it goes.

Got a tank 120l.

Got some Platies (nothing special) always hungy! and nearly dobled in size sins I've had them ( about 4 months)

Also have a Plec (gold nugget (anyone familier ( and yes I known you should not do brackets in brackets in brackets)))

The cycle goes ;
Get home, feed plaites ( flake and bloodworm)
Blue cath goes on (timed)
Day time lights step out (timed to symulate sunset)
Feed plec.

Now this seems ok however in reality the greedy little Platies always fine the pellets and eat them befor the Plec can get to it. Not I tryed several things but can not find a resolve to this problem.

Anyone have any ideas or working solutions to this problem????

Feed them at the same time. Distract the platies with the flakes and bloodworm, so the plec can get his food.

You use sinking wafers for the plec, yes? drop in the sinking wafers after you put flakes or other floating food where the platies are at so that they don't notice the wafers ^^

yes I'm using sinking wafers and I've tryed the destracting approch however those dam little Platies always manage to smell the wafers out

Hi, you could try dropping the Pleco food in just as the lights go off. Many are nocturnal and will happily find their food in the dark. :) I have Mollies and they are greedy pigs too!

I don't think there IS a way of stopping platys being greedy. Mine are just the same, out there in the dark after lights out, munching away on the catfish tablets. Still, the tablets that I use dissolve quite quickly so I'm hoping there's some left for my corys to hoover up.

My platies are the same they at everything before my cories get it
Soooo. i feed the platies with flake, Then soak a bunch of flakes in water and let them dry a minute then drop em in the tank they sink like a stone and lal the cories get theirs while the plateis munching on top

Are Gold Nuggets a bit shy? When my Common gets near his algae wafer the other fish keep out of his way. He isn't aggressive but he will flick his tail at them. It is more difficult if they are a bit shy. Hope he manages to get his food. :)

Gold nugget plecs have extremely varied diets in the wild, they eat almost anything and often need to, you could actually take advantage of this aspect of their diet behavior with your platys.
I used to have a similar issue with my livebearers like platys at been pigs when it comes to feeding time, i used to feed my plecs an aweful lot of algae wafers and catfish pelets and the platys gobbled them up given any chance too.
Over the years as i have learn't more on fish keeping i try to feed my plecs more freshly prepared foods- i often feed my plecs cucumber slices and de-shelled king size prawns, the plecs absolutely love this and will spend the whole day munching on a single cucumber slice or prawn- this is also good because the platys aern't that well equipped at eating prawns or cucumber slices and so can't gorge themselves on them, particually if i feed them some floating fish food like frezedried daphinia at the same time or feed the plecs at night time; you also don't have to feed the plecs hardly as often as you do with dried foods when they are eating fresh foods instead  .
