Its not too bad, but you have to think of it being more like 15" tall, not 6ft! So if you stock accordingly, its not horrific.
Still, not exactly great.
looks ok to me as long as you arnt putting 12" fish in it whats the problem
it has bubbles that come from the base for airation,
could you not fill it with colourfull guppies or something? they are only small?

no im sorry but i think this is wrong , aeration will be limited to it nothin will be able to get oxygen form the top properly if required. fish dont live vertically they live horizontally

I've never noticed that the lake near me was only 18" deep....![]()
Two points: the greater the surface area, the greater the exchange of gases. Thats why surface movement is good (as are bubblers) - they increase the surface area.
With a 12" square(ish) surface area you don't get any of that.
The other obvious question is how often do you see one of your fish (especially the little buggers like guppies) stay in the same 12 inch wide stretch of tank? They move about, forwards and backwards - going upwards to them is the same as us sidestepping i.e we all do it and can do it, but would struggle to use the sidestep as our main means of getting about. We're not geared to move like that.
