As the title says. I kinda want to put a bubbler into the tank to help with the oxygen levels. Are there any pro's and con's I should know of before I go out and do it? What sort of air stone should I look into using?

Thanks much

Bubblers look cool but I think their affect on oxygen levels would be negligible. Increased surface agitation would increase oxygen levels better. Pros: look cool. Cons: clog up, require cleaning and an air pump. I like the blue LED bubbler myself.:good:

I think they look terrible, tacky and make too much noise. Better off changing the angle of your filter outlet :)

If you have sufficient surface agitation from your filter, you don't need one. But, nonetheless:

Pros: some believe they increase oxygen levels (I don't), a fine stream of bubbles hidden in between the plants can look quite nice (not attached to a spongebob or volcano...)

Cons: motors can be very noisy and vibrate against things, use electricity you don't need to be using, the spray from the bubbles popping can get all over the lid and lights.

Not a fan,as you can probably tell, but if you like the aesthetic effect of them, by all means get one. They do no harm. But adjusting your filter output is free and quieter.

I have an APS internal filter that has a valve to attach my air pump valve to. the outlet goes across the surface of the water and it creates alot of agitation on the surface aswell as a strong spray of bubbles.

This method replaced my bubble curtain

My LFS said all tanks require an airstone but he chats a lot of sugar.
I just have a spray bar, does the job.
