I've had all my girls in the 55 gallon but due to wanting larger fish I've sold off nearly all my girls except for 5 or 6 I want to keep as breeders. I think I'd like to put them in a smaller tank together in my kitchen, they are already used to each other anyway but I'm worried that downsizing their space will trigger some bother, what do you think? I don't like fake caves and stuff, anything natural is ok though. What do you think about downsizing - will they mind?

They should be ok in a smaller tank

your basically gunna have to start from day one again mel, once you have interfered with the pecking order of the females, the remaining females will have to go through the whole process again whether they know eachother or not.

do you reckon it's a bad idea or do-able or trial and error?

yup its do-able, its just you'll get a few ***** fights until it settles in about 3 days later, if i was to do this i would give 6 females a 45 - 60L/16G tank so they have enough room to themselves and its not really that big a tank but depends on how big your kitchen is  , i dont see it being a problem
