I personally wouldn't put any other cichlids with a GT, i'm sure it can be done but i've certainly never managed it - GT's can be incredibly vicious to anything perceived as a threat.

I would stick with your planned stock less the Sev and go for a large shoal of Tigers, you could mix the colour variations to makes things a bit more interesting.

any other ideas guysive looked on the trimar website(i live about 20 miles away) and seen plenty of other cichlids that i know sod all about really.what about any of these

cant find any jack dempseys or texas locally though.i think my prefered choice would be a green terror or a texas or a jack dempsey.

I had a lovely intermedium from Trimar, gorgeous fish, wish I still had him. I think you'd need a bigger tank though to be honest, as they grow up to 12"

Pics dont do him justice, he was a lovely pinky grey colour, with an irridescent blue/green shine to him He got on really well with my oscar too (we thought they were going to get romantic at one point!). Top pic was the most recent, then as you go down the list that's working backwards in time (no DeLorean needed either *lol*).

Fancy a trip to Manchester rixy?

My LFS nearly always has Texas, GT's, JD's, Jags and Sev's and a few of the more unusual cichlids. I guess i'm just spoilt!

keep the ideas rolling boys lol.ive just spoken to trimar and they have just got in a 6 inch ish jack dempsey.thanks everyone for your ideas.i would really like a slightly larger cichlid like a jack dempsey/green terror/red terror/ etc etc.i really want to here from people that keep any of these so they can tell me their experiences good or bad.as all of these cichlids grow to approx the same size,could i try 2 if i got them as babies?could i get a female jd and a female green terror?could i put any smaller fish in with them

ferris has given me lots of advice(hes the boy lol) but i want as many experiences as possible.

i had a green terror until a week ago...................when i first got him he was fine then after two weeks he went on a spree killing my friends baby oscar i was looking after and attacked my oscar and bullied my severum and firemouth he was a git..........since ive changed him all in tank is sooo peaceful now.......2 small oscars...1 severum....1female firemouth.....2xkeyholes....1 common plec.....looking now on ebay for a new tank 6ft + hehe
