I don’t think you are far out of the box. I enjoy your posts. Many people do evidenced by your 3583 acknowledgements. But maybe you are a tad too sensitive. Were you an only child?

nope... oldest of 4... but being transparent here, I've always been highly competitive, and have always thought anything worth doing, was worth doing right, so I've often been the best at what I do...

... now, as a recent "born again" Christian, competing seems... just wrong, with most kinds of competitions, so I'm wrestling, with the urge to compete...
... that doesn't mean I can't have unusual fish, I just need to learn the mindset, that I don't need to care what anyone else thinks... the competitions don't help there...

but the whole idea of the forum is exchanging ideas, but when few members have interest or knowledge, beyond the "dime store" specials, there is little exchange of the ideas, my mind craves...

... interestingly the members responding to this post, are some of the members I find most stimulating... over the hundreds of other members, that feel I'm not doing anything they find interesting...

I think all your topics are very interesting to read and even though I can’t really give an input because I don’t really know loads, I like reading your threads and your interesting tanks. Don’t feel insulted if you don’t win the contests there are so many great options, it’s the only forum that has it which to me makes it appealing. I feel reluctant to post here sometimes cause I feel I’ve betrayed everyone from my various stocking threads and becoming an active member on another forum so don’t normally post but just browse through interesting topics and I chip in if any of my knowledge can help a newbie. Do stay at this forum cause it’s active but not as active as I feel it was when I joined as I feel less people are joining with questions. Therefore your interesting threads become crucial to keep it active.

I read your posts and stay up to date with your fish room but to be completely honest, I often don't have an interesting opinion to add I don't reply just for the sake of it because it doesn't make for fun reading. It's often difficult to discuss these things, but in any endeavour where only a minority are REALLY into it, those people are going to have trouble finding other to engage with. Those people are us.
I see a lot of people here who are getting into it, and if they stick with it, will replace us. I think most are reading what they see as interesting, and not necessarily hitting like or asking more questions. There is a low key dynamism to this forum.
This forum has a lot of knowledgeable voices. I've been on forums before that had one or two, and swirl of people fighting over wrong answers or fish lore. Those forums generated many more posts, and were sound from a business point of view. They also regularly banned members who answered too well, as once you have a sensible, reasoned answer, the discussion's over. Expertise was bad for business.
We don't have that learning killing approach here, but we do have well more than a dozen people participating who really know their stuff, and quite a few high on the learning curve. In a twisted way, I think that reduces the number of posts.
I also believe this is the worst time of year to make decisions. The pantomime Spring is endless here, and as soon as we get a sunny morning like today, we get snow (like now). Everyone I know is at the very least vaguely depressed. We're all ready and waiting for some good things to happen. Summer is coming...

I would rather answer why I did something, than think no one cares... I have a lot of experience, albeit, most before the internet was around to ask questions... I'm not an expert, and am happy to discuss why, or how I came about doing something... often times, it's how I did something to solve a problem 30 years ago... we all know the hobby didn't change in the last 30 years

to be honest i used to be on here every single day for hours a day learning and talking to other fish keepers, but over time interests/priorities have changed, i moved out, got married, have a full time job, etc etc. i kind of did notice a slow down in the forum, it was definitely a lot more active a few years ago but i still believe this is the best fish forum on the internet, and ill die on that hill

i’m sorry you’ve felt like people on here are ignoring you, i know that’s not their intention at all, i agree with other members in that most of the time the lack of reaction isn’t rejection, it’s just that they don’t feel like they can add anything to the discussion.

You know what ? Reading all this you have a lot of TFF friends and admirers and they would miss you . Remember the photo you posted of that fish shipment with your address and name on it ? We know where you live and we can do things to make you stay . It’s a good thing you have Jesus in your corner because if you honk us off by leaving you’ll need him .

Tbf I look at loads of your posts but I don't really comment because my knowledge is about 1/1000th of yours (and most people's on here) so I don't feel like there's much I can contribute other than to say "nice tank" which I'm sure would get boring pretty quickly!

Sorry you are feeling such. I like that you push ideas, sometimes collectively we get stuck with "standard operating procedures", we need to review those from time to time. I haven't won a contest either but then again, I don't enter often anymore .

Some day we should have an ugly aquarium and ugly fish contest. @Magnum Man would be shut out there, because his tanks are nice and his fish are nicer, but @Back in the fold and I would be battling on that one.
