A worker at my LFS said I could keep 3 Bala Sharks in a 29 and they wouldn't outgrow it. Lol.
I mean, he was technically right, in a sense. They'd die before they got bigger than the tank... :(

Have actually seen people argue that the "they'll only grow to the size of the tank" myth is true, and it's fine if it's stunts them, in spite of others telling them about organs continuing to grow and the shortened lifespan. "I've always done it, it's fine" SMH.
 
For awhile I actually believed the "betta are fine in jars because they live in small mud puddles thing" lol

#1 tip don't trust the LFS.

A tank should be cycled & best done before adding fish. Plants are your best friend. Not all fish should be together & not all fish any tank.

Kindness of strangers.

Don't trust the LFS.
