Hey Lovelies,

No-one is helping me on the correct forum, so maybe one can help me here - or at least make me smile!

My plants are not doing too well, it is a heavily planted tanks but some of the leaves are going brown at the ends. Any ideas?

What kind of light do you have & do you add CO2 or ferts to the tank? Which plants are shoing the worst signs?

Hey Lovelies, how you all doin? Got 2 Malayan trumpet snails today. Got 'em free cos the lfs has an abundance of 'em. I've a feeling I'll regret it but we'll see...
Took the 'ol 10 gal hex out of the shed today. Posted about stocking suggestions before and think I'll get 3 sparkling gouramis. Handy little project to look forward to. :)
Trumpet Snails? Are those the spirly type? :fun:
They're shells are cone shaped. Apparently they help keep the sand in check and don't eat plants so I thought I'd give them a go.
Nice tank by the way!
When I bought the mosses, they had MTS on them (and they didn't even know it!). And I forgot to ask for one with the moss -.- I so wanted a MTS!

Hey Lovelies!
Ever since I moved Pinky out of the fry cage, Ninja started putting on weight and growing a bit more. He's also more active now that Pinky isn't poking him every time he tries to eat.
Will move him in when he's 1.5 cm. Pinky will probably be 2 cm by then.

Eh you can do better, but that heather. Wooh man I gotta see this heather it comes with

Really? You don't think it's good deal?

I paid more for my 36 gallon tank & it didn't come with as much stuff.............this one even comes with a test kit.

I only have 2 java ferns in 2 different tanks and both are doing great. The one in the 20 gal river rock tank was practically dead when I opened the plastic tube it came it. I tied it to the mopani wood with brown thread & it took off! The other java fern is in my other 20 gallon & all the leave have grown & spread with that crappy light fixture. I can't wait to see how well it does with the new light.
If mine grew any faster, I'd be saying it's moving as I look at it. o_O I think it is the reason the other plants are slower in growth. Java Moss is supposed to grow fastest, follower by ceratopteris and willow moss... but like everything is already backwards in my tank, I guess it's no surprise the plants do the same as the fish. (bottom feeder feeds at surface, surface feeders feed at bottom).

But do your ferns grow new leaves half dark green half light green? Or is it a sign that something's up with mine? The dark green disappears once the leaf is mature though.

I've noticed some dark green/light green on the leaves but the plant looks fine & healthy. Maybe that's just the way the leaves grow?

Thanks, post pics of the trumpet snails when you get a chance.

Ruskull, I'm one of those [Mod Edit] that can't seem to manage to post pics. I've tried photobucket etc. Check em out on Wiki. I haven't seen any of them since last night. When they do appear there'll probably be around 40 of them!

I use Photobucket myself. It's really easy, just click on the location text that starts with "http" and it will turn blue. Hit "CTRL" plus "C" on your keyboard and that copies the link. Then post here, using the 5th icon from the left called the "Insert Image" button and then hit "CTRL" & "V" to paste that copy into the window. Then click the insert image button & viola!

It can actually be even easier than that with photobucket, they provide a link that is an "image code" and you can just paste it directly into your post and it'll work :)

Hey Lovelies!
My male swordtail seems to have grown bigger over night. o_O Could it be from the high temp? (and by bigger I mean longer, not fatter).

Why thank you DM, I totally approve of your taste as well! I'm actually planning to replace the fake wood ornament with a real piece that I found in my creek. The only reason I haven't changed it yet is because it currently holds one of my airlines in the center of the tank so nicely.

That's true but I'm not sure she'll know where to find the direct link that you can just paste straight away................

Looks like this for me :)

I made this little pic because I'm always explaining to peeps how to do it :p if you click on the picture (instead of viewing it in the main album) then it's on the top right side.

Hey Lovelies!
Lovely weather we have here... Flippin' 40C degrees! -_- got to wait till the sun goes down to take a walk.

Ooops! Apologies. Didn't realise that was a bad word. Honestly! :-(

Thanks for the tips on photobucket guys. I'll have a look later. :good:

Ruskull- it looks to be an ok deal, but is there even a light with it? I've seen 75 gallon full setups for $100-$150 so just my opinion, but maybe those are a rarity

Manofish, it does come with a light fixture, it's on the floor next to the tank with an extra replacement bulb. It even comes with an API Master test kit, an autofeeder that he'll probably never use & a spackle bucket full of black gravel, which he wanted to buy anyway. It also has a decent heater!

Sorry but that's a great deal. I also found a 125 gallon tank with a nice cabinet but that one was $350! I've never seen any 75 or 100 gallon tanks for $100, not on my local craigslist anyway.

I'm trying to get him to keep the Corys in the 29 gallon tank with the sand substrate and move the aggressive little Tetras to the new, bigger tank so he can up their numbers to at least 6 of each. Besides, he likes my 36 bowfront a lot so he'd love a 46 bowfront!

Looks liek a great deal to me. Don't even want to say how much I paid for my 46g bowfront , new!
