If yours are anything like mine they'll be sprouting like crazy soon enough. I have 2 of them that are flowering! I also added 2 new Lutea Crypts last night.............. :hyper:
Well, if the fern does it and these already show signs of going crazy, I guess they will. Can't wait for them to flower. Bet my swordies will like it too, they seem to like its aspect.
Gratz on the Crypts.

I'm wondering what stem plant / fast growing plant to add though, not sure I have support for Cabomba - it might end up eaten by one of my apple snails, torn apart by the hoplo or just melting away due to low light / no ferts.

Mikaila has some polysperma plants that seem to be a good fit for my future Southeast Asian biotope, I hope she includes some with my order.

Hey LOverlies! I have to put new tires on Zach's bike today, what fun.............

Hey Lovelies!!!!

juss got back from the lfs.. got two male guppys, one for each of my smaller tanks.. Got a blue female by herself, going to put a yellow teckillia male in with her..

Got another male for my other tank.. All my male feeders had ammonier poisoning so they dint make it..

Also got a red and blue female betta, and a purple half moon male.. Ginsue got sucked into my filter, which I has since turned the flow down on.. Also bought foam to put over the suction tube..

edit fer adding a y and finishing the thought..

That looks good, wonder what its needs are. I'll do some searching.
H. Polysperma on Wiki:

Hygrophila Polysperma is readily available in the aquarium trade thanks to its easy of growth and reproduction. It is exceptionally easy to grow and will accept most water parameters. When used in aquascaping it is often placed towards the back of the aquarium, as a large group of stems. Some people, however, are not happy to introduce Hygrophila Polysperma into their tanks as it can rapidly grow out of control, taking light and nutrients away from more valuable plants. It does occasionally grow into an attractive plant and the leaves turn a shade of pink or orange as they grow closer to the light source. Many people find that this plant produces too many new shoots and eventually becomes a nuisance. It is a good plant for quickly filling a planted aquarium, using its new shoots to propagate new plants in a matter of days

So... would that kill off the fern and anubias? -.-

GUPPYTIME!

Bummer Hambone. Good thing there's always more fish at the store.

It is a bummer. Ginsue never saw it coming until it was too late..

I dint want him to go out like that

Oops, I didnt read ahead......so I guess you lost Ginsu? I hate losing fish......last fish I lost was a Von Rio about a month ago. He was the one that had a twisted spine. He came that way & I didnt realize until he was all settled in with the others. He was eating and swimming around normal so I let him be. Just one day I found him stuck to the filter intake upside down.

I have another Von Rio that swims funny, like he's always pointed up. At first I thought he was just displaying or something, but he even swims that way when he sleeping at night. I named him Skippy. His bottom lip sticks out too but he still eats & hangs out with the other fish no problem but he'll probably be the next to go.

No silly, only if you didn't trim it back. Do you think I'd be adding that if I thought it would kill off the rest of the plants? It seems like a quick grower that can get out of hand if you let it, but you're an attentive fishkeeper so I'd would expect you'd keep it in line.

Yeah, but since I do not add any ferts, what if it just decides to eat up everything that's already in low amounts? I'd sure like a nitrate lowerer.
Next month, if I get my payment, I will buy:
the polysperma
a nitrate tester
probably a new male swordie, as my current one decided he doesn't like ladies... o_O

The Swordie must be asexual.......

The wistera I already have is also a fast grower, I get about 3 inches a week on the older plants. They don't look as appealing as the H. polysperma in my opinion. I think your anubias could be moved toward the front sides with the java fern in the middle front & put some h. polysperma toward the back to create depth.

I'm looking to remove the fake root thing & replace with a couple of pieces of driftwood that I've been soaking for a few months. Both pieces are native North Carolinian wood of some sort that I pulled out of the creek at the end of my yard. Neither is pine.....

Well, he used to mate like a rabbit when he was only with my blood-red swordie. After that, when I've added the longfin female, he just lost interest and just hangs around with Bee, who lost her queen-female-dog status to Eris and now to Arrie too...

I want them in the back so I can watch the fish and allow them movement in front. The bogwood is already taking too much space, so I'd want some polysperma in the back, behind the bogwood, so the whole back of the tank is covered by grass, and the hoplo can roam the front. Else, he's just going to run into my plants and tear them apart. I barely convinced him to stop moving the Java Fern around the tank. o_O

Hey Loverlies!

Break time from a 35% water change on the 36 gallon. I removed some dead Moneywort Bacopa and shifted things around a bit. Removing some more black gravel so the black sand will remain & I'm planting 2 new Lutea Crypts in that tank. Oh, and I have to trim back the wisteria that's growing out of control. Fun, fun, fun. A bad day of tank maintenance is better than a good day at work or so I has heard..........

Guess that Bacopa wasn't "wort" the money.
