Well, we all knew it would happen, and it finally has... yesterday I brought home a delta tail betta. His name is Faukes, and he is magnificent!!!
I was currently using my 10g to breed my black venezuelan cories, and then it occured to me, oh my goodness, I could totally put a betta in there. I used to have shrimp in the 10g too, but they all died off over the heat wave this summer. Now I realized there was nothing stopping me
My camera is absolutely rubbish, so sorry these are so bad. Faukes is mostly black, then fades to white, and kind of pinkish on his tail, and has a red tip on his dorsal fin. He's beautiful! These pics are from when I first added him, and even within an hour his color was so much better...
yeesh, like I said, my camera is rubbish. Hopefully Ole Saint Nick will bring a new one
So, Faukes settled in very nicely. He's not loving the current from my filter, I'll be getting a new one soon, something much more size appropiate than what I have now. He flared up at one of the cories once, but hasn't chased them at all. He did however go around and scarf down every newly hatched cory in the whole tank :
So, I either rescape the tank (which will happen soon anyway) with some really great ground cover, or move the cories to the big tank.
This is my first betta, and I am hooked.
