I woke up this morning and one of my Blue Rams had completely vanished... No idea what has happened as there is nothing in the tank which I imagine would be able to eat it (it was fully grown at around 2 inches)

He lives with 7 bronze corydora,
1 infant Ctnepoma (only about 1.5 inch)
2 other blue rams
3 dwarf gourami

I heard that these were delicate guys, and would therefore not be surprised if he went to the fish bowl in the sky just seems wierd that there is absolutely no evidence that he ever existed!! Do you reckon the corys could have eaten the remains/bones overnight?

Cheers,
Adel

fish will consume dead bodies pretty quickly, have you looked everywhere, behind under filters/wood/rocks etc?
also check around the floor under cabinets etc, might have jumped out when you were feeding/maintaining tank, i know i found one of my fish under the cabinet,hehe........

also check in the lid area in all corners of tank

and for my next trick iam going to tranform into a gourami :shifty:

yeah. In just over an hour i had a neon tetra comlpetely eaten by the other fish (once it was dead). Have a good search as suggested and if you cant find it then the little fishies in your tank have had an extra meal

On the plus side tho of canabalism.....A rotting fish can quickly cause an ammonia spike which can kill your fish

Hope you find it alive and well

it's not cannibalism if they're different species

They are all fish...

Just because I'm white and I eat an black person doesn't mean its not cannibalism... (nothing against black ppl just making a point)

That is an example of a homo sapien sapien eating a homo sapien sapien. It's analogous to a microgeophagus ramirezi (blue) eating a microgeophagus ramirezi (gold). Same fish different colour.

If it was say, an aequidens rivulatus eating a microgeophagus ramirezi, then that's two different species.

check in the plants, mine has a habit of disappearing then reappearing out of the plant (wisteria)

i agree mine does that sometimes hides in the plants and almost gives me heart attacks and then comes out of the blue(get it?) and calms me down
