Ok the culprit rusting slate got yanked out of the bridged tanks. I was sad to see it go, it looked so nice in there.

The replacement, which I thought was a good idea at the time, was plastic rock textured lawn edging. I cut it up into more natural shapes.

So I stick it in the water, and...wait for it.... it floats to the top. :X  :S

Son of a fish! :shout:

Ok now I have to weight the bad boys all down with rocks. So with a completely soaked arm, paint leg and socks, I finally have it in there, hope it stays.

Good thing...if the fish move it, it floats out of their way.

Here is the new "plastic rock", what do you think?

i have to say it looks much to natural....

let some green algea on and maybe it'll cover it up... perhaps replace thos rocks with moss balls...

That looks cool. I am reminded of Star cities in these futuristic movies :)

why couldnt you get real slate?

The real slate I had had high iron content and rusted. Its appeal was it was paper thin and had almost no weight compared to the usual slate.

I could get normal slate, but wasn't interested in the heavy thick stuff. If I can find normal slate thats thinner say 1/4 - 1/2 inch, sure I'll swap it out.
