if he got them from a source direct from abroad then the price would be high but not as high as hes making out, these are usually purchased from the breeder to use as breeders in the uk, so i dont understand why hes selling them on if he got them from a breeder abroad. maybe they are the selected few that dont spawn and dont nest build? or hes already spawned them and has fry growing? we will never know
if he got them from an importer in the UK he'll be paying a trade price which is a completely different matter and in reflection to this his asking (what he expects to get) price is way over priced, if he had them at buy now then this would be different, but at £20 per fish??? yeah right.
simply dont buy them and force him to reduce his prices, they are nice fish but my instict is asking why he is selling imported quality when he could breed them himself and make a mutitude of what he would originally make, some people are just greedy.
if he was sold it as SD then youd think that they guy would use the genetics to produce HM fry by crossing, which he might have done as i stated above but where are his females forsale if he was a breeder?, this is why im convinced hes just buying to make a greedy profit
as for import license, he prob has one, he sells other fish, mainly plecos, its really not that hard to get around getting fish imported in without a license, not that i would risk it.
last week i purchased a 3 month white HM for 5.50, when i got him delivered he was defo 3 months and in perfect condition, the seller didnt put much on the listing but answered all my questions via email and was 100% honest with his answers and he proved that he was the breeder of the fish.
his fish were quality like what you would expect, now i wouldve paid upto £20 for this 3 month old white HM though.
