it any one else got is illness
you can tell if you have it by
counting the fish tanks you have now & the number of tanks you had when you joined TFF

i seem to have 5 more fish tanks & 23 more fish

this disease is commonly called MTS (multiple tank syndrome)

there are three known cures
1.running out of money
2.running out of space
3.getting yelled at by your mom/dad/wife/husband that you have too many fish.

I have MTS... very contagious, my sister caught it and has already bought her first fish, a betta called Angelo.

Symptoms of MTS can include:

- having more fish food in your house than human food
- constant wetness of hands/carpet
- having (live) fish on an eating surface
- strange ability to breathe underwater
- a fondness for bloodworms...

I have it, but have been partially cured by a lack of space and threat of an upcoming move (don't need any more large tanks to transport.) Since joining TFF, I have bought at least 3 more 10 gallons and an 80 gallon, among countless smaller betta tanks :X

I broke out my old college 10 gallon tank in October. Actually, my wife had that tank from when she was a kid. In November, we got a 29 gallon. Then, I came across TFF. A week or two ago, I picked up a 55 gallon kit, and we'll probably have it set up in a week or so. I also have plans to set up a fish tank in my office at work, where I will infect others with MTS!!!!.....unless my manager says no fish tanks at work :(

Does having the illness before joining count? Since joining I seem to be getting a little better. But you never know when a relapse can occur.
EDIT: seems the wife may have been bitten by the bug. But at this point she doesn't have wet hand symptoms, she does however encourage continued and expanded activities, and complains about not having enough space for more/larger tanks.

It seems all three cures have been put to use in my case. :/

Started off with a five gallon, ended up with a ten gallon which I converted to mice quarters which I gave away and a 45 gallon tank. I still suffer grievously from this disorder, but it seems that the cures are taking effect quite nicely.

Before joining TFF I had just one tank, the 30 gallon community. Now I have 3 tanks, the 30, a 6 gallon with betta, and a 55 gallon being setup. I do blame my betta love to this forum. Before joining, I didn't give bettas much thought and didn't know what characters they are. :sly:

I started out with just a few tanks, a twenty long, a ten gallon and a 5 gallon. Then I got a 55 gallon for christmas a couple years ago. Then I found a great deal on another 55 gallon tank set up (it was only 50 bucks I couldn't pass it up!). Now I have a total of 14 tanks of varying sizes. I think that number should be stable for at least another couple months until we move in to a new appartment. I am looking for something with a full basement for my tanks so I can get just a couple more.

My parents won't let me catch MTS :( Oh well i'm sure i'll have my own place in 3 or 4 years :)

I think I should start saving for a lionfish now though :)

I had MTS, then my parents rid it, dang them. I want to be a fish biologist when I get older, I NEED MY FISH  When I get a job I will set up a new tank for livebearers or cichlids, probably livebearers :D
