Tetratec Ex400 External Filter

I'm after a tetratec ex400 for my small tank,but they're like gold dust anyone got one for sell or know where i can get one? or perhaps a similar version external for 10 gal tank?

Zooplus use to sell them,perhaps they weren't big sellers??

Could get a 600 then adjust the outflow for less power?

Just worried 600 would be overkill on a cory fry tank...

Has i'm reducing their space a bit for the wee babes,i wanted to take the hob out & replace with a small external...

Once it's full with media you're down to about 300LPH, and if you use media such as floss it will further slow flow due to the fine nature of it. It should be fine, my 600 doesn't put out much flow, and I have Corydoras panda fry in there at about 1.5Cm, and Ember Tetra's, they face no trouble fighting the flow, if you use the full length of spray bar provided you'll have no problems.

Pop into a maidenhead Aquatics, i think the filters they sell are called Aqua Flow's. My 10 litre fry tank has the Aqua Flow 50, which is rated at 100 litres an hour. I think they make great fry tank filters, but obviously i had to use a stocking over them for about 2 weeks. (and the stocking fitted nicely with the top cap and bottom cap to hold them in place)

They come with a little spray bar too It makes far less noise than a bubbling sponge filter.

I chopped the sponge that comes with them in half then chopped up a sponge from my 90 litre and put it in the top before the impeller. Took a few days to kick in properly but works really really well.

I have a 600 on the grow out tank for the cory juvi's,i wanted one for the fry for first few weeks,the estimated tank volume will be around 8 gals after i've divided it...so perhaps a aquaflow would be a better option...

How much are they Tizer - if you dont mind me asking?

dirt cheap in MA, about £11 i think i paid. You might want the next size up though, but i think its only about £20 for the largest model.

Try and source a Fluval 105 if you can, that should be adequate. If not then have a look on APS website at their little external. About £20 i reckon.

And i also think that THE RANGE near me had a 400 in... But i'm not 100% sure.

dare i say it, but, that filter is more cute than some of my fish i want one! I will sit it on the side cabinet and call it Bob.
