check them for any sharp bits and then boil them in a saucepan for 10 minutes just to be sure they're spotless!

Terracotta pots are fine, in fact widely used by cichlid breeders and others who need caves. Avoid ones that have been painted or sprayed, but otherwise most any will do. Giving them a clean to wipe away any dust is a good idea, but boiling sounds a bit like overkill. It's very unlikely something stored outdoors in a garden centre would carry whitespot or something into your aquarium.

Cheers, Neale

depending on the size of the pot's, what i did was put them into a bucket. boil the kettle a few times and tip it over them and leave them stand in the boiling water for 10 min's or so and then once cooled down put in your tank and away you go.

hope this helps

I check for any rough bits and then once satisfied boil a kettle and pour it over them. I do this twice at most XD Once cooled, pop it in :)
