Tell Me About Your Cichlid Set Ups

Hi I'm new here so was wandering if you could tell me what Cichlid tanks you are running (dimensions, filtration, decor) and what you are keeping in them (Cichlids, Dithers catfish/Plecs etc)?

I'm currently running a Hybrid set up 5'x2'x2' and looking to set up a second tank in my spare room.

Filtration is a Fluval fx5 and a APS 2000EF+, decor is a 5ft bubble wall, wood,pots and pebbles, blue background and white sand.

Current occupants in my divided tank are

Cichlids:

Blood Parrot
2 x Flowerhorns
Red Texas

Other:

Sailfin Plec

I'm looking to make some nice bright flowerhorn types from variations of breeding.

Looking to get a second set up for Severums and Oscars

1x 14inch ,female Channa pleurophthalma

1x 9-10inch Brycon melanopterus

2x 9-10inch Pink Tail Chalceus

1x 18inch Polypterus Ornatipinnis

4x 10-14inch Balantiocheilus melanopterus

1x very large 10inch disc spotted silver dollar....

Filteration was

fluval fx5 / fluval u4 / tetratec 1000x2 until near end then used one on another tank..

Hi HybridGS, my main tank is a 500 litre (130 US gallon) 5x2x2.

Cichlid inhabitants are ...

2 x uaru
1 x super red Sev
2 x Acarichthys heckelii
1 x Chocolate cichlid

Making up the numbers are ...

8 x dwarf neon rainbows
2 x Brochis splendens
4 x Cory julii
1 x bristlenose
2 x platies
1 x golden gourami
3 x red eye tetras
probably plus a couple of others I have forgoten about !

FIltration is an FX5 and an Eheim 2217. Substrate is small smooth gravel. Ornaments are bogwood and synthetic plants.

It's a really, really peaceful tank. Everyone gets one really well.

You can see the big boys begging for food at the front (as usual) in this one !

Also have a 300 litre tank (80 US gallons) which is in flux a little bit at the moment. Currently I am experimenting with keeping 6 x discus in my local tapwater. Too early to tell whether it will be a success or not.
FIltration on thath one is an Allpondsolutions 1400EF and an Eheim 2215. Substrate is an extremely fine sand-coloured gravel. Ornaments are again bogwood and synthetic plants. Not got a decent picture of this one.

mine is a 4x2x2 100uk gallons/120us gallons has been stocked with all manner of cichlids in the past i have had green sev red spotted sev rotkeil sev geophagus surinamensis cryptoheros spirulus firemouths blue acara angels ( alotho not all at once of course) dithers have included rainbows tiger barbs etc. i also used to have a glass knifefish a gibbi and a golden nugget.

currently it houses 6 discus 20 cardinals 2 gold rams and 2 bolivian rams .

filtration is an eheim pro2 2028 and an eheim classic 2217+_

had them a while now exept the dwarf pike which arrived tuesday i keep buying them off ebay and growing them on and swapping them i buy 5 juvis just to keep the best 2 just dropped some off last night took the angel fish 2 bolivian rams 2 cherboards 2 hongsloi and the keyhole to a mate for his new tank as a favoure im getting 5 wild angels in a few weeks for a rio tapajos biotope to go with the pike and the L134 which im going to have a go at breeding once there big enough and ive got another 4 then the agassizi are going aswell to make room for 4 more L260 to try breed them ill try get some pics up when i get home
